“Ice Cream”
I once had a craving for ice cream so fierce,
I dreamed and dreamed of those chocolate scoops,
And everyday I anxiously stood,
Waiting on that lonesome stoop.Waiting for that truck to drive on by.
The one with the ice cream cone on it’s hood.
I waited and waited and waited all day,
On that lonesome stoop I anxiously stood. Finally the truck drove down the street,
As I waved my money way up high,
But the driver didn’t seem to notice me,
As he continued to drive on by.“No!” I cried aloud as I began my pursuit,
Running as fast as I possibly could.
I chased and I chased and I chased all day,
Miles from where I once anxiously stood. But that driver was not going to stop,
And there was no way I could catch a truck.
I realized my craving would not be fufilled,
And I realized I was out of luck.So I stopped in the street and panted and gasped,
As the truck drove now very far,
And just when I was about to turn and go home,
Suddenly I was struck by a car.
